Hello all,
We are heading into March full speed ahead, and I just want to share some thoughts and concerns as we move toward Milestones Testing in April. Students have been bringing in Rubik's Cubes, crafting items, trinkets, toys, and other distracting items. Whenever I see these, they are either collected, or the student is told to put them away. However, I do not always see these items. I ask that you check with your student to ensure that they are not carrying these types of items to my classroom anymore. These items are no longer allowed in my classroom, and they will be confiscated until a parent can come by to collect them. I understand that the students want to express their creativity with some additional projects for fun, but these things should never take precedence over classwork.
The students have had a wonderful and productive year so far. Now, it is more important that ever to stay focused, work hard, and prepare not only for Milestones, but also for sixth grade. I want them to be as prepared as possible for this change in their lives!
Take care,
Mr. Bowden
